Chapter 3 — The Truth Rachel Never Knew

That evening...
John found Ana sitting alone on a quiet stretch of beach behind the mansion.
The sunset painted the ocean gold.
She still wore his oversized white shirt.
"I'm sorry," she whispered without looking at him.
John frowned.
"For what?"
"For ruining your party."
He let out a quiet breath.
"You think today was your fault?"
Ana gave a sad smile.
"It usually is."
John sat beside her.
After a long silence, she finally spoke.
"My mother worked here."
John looked at her.
"I grew up cleaning this property."
She pointed toward the mansion.
"I know every hallway... every garden... every hidden door."
John's expression slowly changed.
"I left twelve years ago."
"My mom got sick."
"We lost everything."
"So why come back?"
Ana swallowed.
"Because someone asked me to."
John's eyes narrowed.
"Who?"
She reached into her towel bag.
Inside was a worn envelope.
No return address.
Only one sentence.
'Come to the party if you want to know who destroyed your family.'
John stared at the letter.
His heartbeat slowed.
This wasn't random.
Someone wanted Ana there.
Someone had planned everything.
Before either of them could speak again...
John's phone vibrated.
One notification.
Unknown sender.
Attached...
A security photo taken twenty minutes before Rachel pushed Ana.
The image showed Rachel...
Talking to a middle-aged man wearing a gray suit.
John zoomed in.
His face turned cold.
May you like
He knew exactly who the man was.
His father's personal attorney.
