CHAPTER 3 — “THE LAST DOOR”

Guest 1 (crying):
“We’re going to be trapped forever!”

Heir Man (losing control):
“OPEN THIS DAMN ROOM!”

Woman (calm, unwavering):
“Sit down.”

Heir Man:
“Excuse me?”

Woman (cold):
“You heard me.”

(pause — his confidence falters)

Heir Man (lower voice):
“You don’t understand what you’ve done.”

Woman:
“I understand perfectly.”

Woman (slow breath):
“You mistook silence for weakness.”

(beat)

Woman:
“You mistook wealth for immunity.”

Guests begin to quiet. The panic shifts into fear.

Guest 2 (soft):
“Why is she not afraid?”

Heir Man (almost desperate now):
“What are you waiting for?”

Woman (finally meets his eyes fully):
“For confirmation.”

Heir Man:
“Confirmation of what?”

A long silence.

Then—

SYSTEM VOICE (over unseen speakers):
“Identity verified.”

Heir Man freezes.

Woman (barely a whisper):
“Confirmed.”

Heir Man (voice breaking):
“What are you?”

Woman (turning slightly away):
“I’m the person you were told never to touch.”

(pause)

Woman:
“And you did anyway.”

ENDING — FINAL REVEAL

The lights in the ballroom dim automatically.

Every guest stops moving.

Every camera locks position.

The exits remain sealed.

Heir Man steps back slowly, realization collapsing his arrogance.

Heir Man (whisper):
“No… no, that’s not possible…”

Woman (final line, calm and absolute):
“You didn’t attack a guest.”

May you like

(pause)

Woman:
“You attacked the system that invited you.”
