DON’T LOOK AT HER / Chapter 1 / 3

CHAPTER 1 — THE WRONG JUDGMENT

The silence after the confrontation didn’t last long.

Security finally pushed through the crowd, separating Jack and the stranger. But something strange happened—the man in the white shirt didn’t resist. He didn’t argue. He didn’t even look angry.

He just adjusted his sleeve again.

Calm. Too calm.

Like none of this mattered.

Jack was breathing hard, his girlfriend behind him shaken but unharmed. The crowd was recording now—phones raised, whispers spreading, turning the moment into something bigger than it should have been.

A security guard stepped in.
“Sir, you need to leave.”

The man finally looked up.

Not at Jack.
Not at security.

At the cameras.

And that was the first time the energy in the room changed.

Because his eyes weren’t emotional.

They were analytical.

Like he was already remembering every face in the room.

Then he spoke quietly:

“You’re handling this the wrong way.”

A pause.

Nobody understood what he meant.

Until his phone vibrated once.

And every security guard suddenly stopped moving.

One of them looked down at his earpiece… then froze.

“Wait…” he whispered. “That’s TechNova command authorization…”

The name hit the air like a shockwave.

TechNova.

Everyone knew it.

The billion-dollar tech empire dominating the news.

Jack frowned. “What is he talking about?”

But the security team wasn’t looking at Jack anymore.

They were looking at the man in the white shirt.

And suddenly… they stepped back.
