Nine hours later...
Mercer Global's executive boardroom had never been quieter.
The company's directors sat around the polished walnut table while attorneys unpacked stacks of evidence.
Caleb's attorney stood.
"My client denies every allegation."
Ethan calmly connected the flash drive to the projector.
One recording began to play.
Caleb's own voice filled the room.
"If Ethan disappears, every voting share becomes mine."
Silence.
Another recording.
"I already have someone inside the accounting department."
Another.
"Destroy the audit before anyone sees it."
One director removed his glasses.
Another buried his face in both hands.
The board chairman finally spoke.
"Is any of this fabricated?"
Sarah answered before Ethan could.
"We recovered every original source directly from the company's security servers."
Caleb looked around desperately.
