Chapter 2: The Trap Inside the Boardroom

By noon, Daniel had ordered an emergency executive meeting.

He arrived early, wearing his best navy suit, his smile polished, his voice controlled.

Sophia sat beside him in a black dress this time, pretending to take notes.

But her eyes kept moving to the door.

She knew something was wrong.

At 12:15, Olivia walked in.

The room went silent.

Daniel stood quickly.

“Olivia, this is a private meeting.”

She placed her handbag on the table.

“No, Daniel. This is a company meeting. And I own forty percent of this company.”

The executives looked at one another.

Sophia’s pen stopped moving.

Daniel forced a laugh.

“Whatever this is, we can discuss it at home.”

Olivia opened the folder.

“No. We’ll discuss it here.”

She slid the first document across the table.

“Luxury hotel charges listed as client entertainment.”

Another document.

“Jewelry purchases marked as marketing expenses.”

Another.

“Private apartment rent paid through a shell vendor.”

Daniel’s face lost color.

Sophia slowly leaned back in her chair.

Olivia looked at her.

“And then there is Miss Blake.”

Sophia swallowed.

“I don’t know what you think—”

Olivia cut her off.

“I think you were sleeping with my husband while helping him hide stolen company money.”

The room erupted in whispers.

Daniel slammed his hand on the table.

“Enough!”

The sound cracked through the room.

But Olivia did not flinch.

Instead, she tapped her phone once.

The large conference screen lit up.

A security video appeared.

Daniel and Sophia stood inside his office, much too close.

Then the audio played.

Daniel’s voice filled the room:

“No one’s here.”

Sophia covered her mouth.

Daniel stared at the screen like it had betrayed him.

Olivia turned to the board members.

“I am requesting an immediate internal investigation, Daniel’s temporary removal as CEO, and full protection for the employee who came forward.”

Daniel’s eyes snapped toward Emily, who stood quietly near the door with the legal counsel.

His face twisted.

“You little snake.”

Olivia stepped between them.

“Careful, Daniel. Threatening a whistleblower in front of attorneys is a very expensive mistake.”

For the first time, Daniel had no answer.

The board voted within twenty minutes.

Daniel Carter was suspended.

Sophia Blake was escorted out by security.

And Olivia walked past her husband without one tear.

But as she reached the elevator, Daniel whispered behind her:

“You think this ends with me losing my office?”

Olivia turned.

“No, Daniel.”

May you like

Her voice was cold.

“This ends when you lose everything you stole.”
