CHAPTER 3 — “THE ROOM THAT WASN’T THERE”

Investigators arrive at Theranos headquarters.

Everything looks perfect. Too perfect.

White walls. Clean labs. Organized data.

But something is off.

A federal agent opens a door marked:

“AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY”

Inside—

There is nothing.

No machines.
No equipment.
Just empty space and unplugged cables.

The agent freezes.

Agent:
“Where is the rest of the lab?”

Silence.

Behind him, another investigator checks the system.

Investigator:
“The data doesn’t match any physical output.”

Then—

A sudden alert appears on the monitor.

SYSTEM MESSAGE:
“FILE STRUCTURE ALTERED 3 MINUTES AGO.”

The investigators look at each other.

No one is inside the room.

But something has just changed.

Somewhere in the building… a door closes softly.

Footsteps fade down a hallway that no camera seems to capture.

And for the first time—

May you like

no one can tell if Theranos is collapsing…

or if it has already disappeared from inside itself.
