CHAPTER 3 — “THE FALL OF JULIETTE”

Sirens echoed in the distance.

Someone had already called.

Juliette stepped backward again and again until her heel hit the pool edge.

Her voice broke.

“You would destroy me over a misunderstanding?”

Christopher laughed once.

Cold. Empty.

“That’s the problem,” he said. “There is no misunderstanding.”

Emma’s small voice suddenly cut through everything.

“Daddy…”

Christopher turned instantly.

She was shaking, but she was looking at Juliette—not with fear anymore.

With recognition.

“She pushed me…” Emma whispered. “I remember her hand.”

That was the final fracture.

Juliette’s expression collapsed completely.

“You little liar—” she snapped suddenly, then stopped herself, realizing what she had just become.

Too late.

Christopher raised his phone again.

One final file opened.

A live police transmission.

Already connected.

Juliette’s eyes widened. “You planned this…”

Christopher didn’t deny it.

“I protected my daughter.”

Police lights flooded the courtyard seconds later.

Juliette didn’t run.

She just stood there, trembling, as officers stepped in and cuffed her.

No screaming.

No dramatic collapse.

Just silence.

As she was led away, she looked back once.

“At least tell me,” she whispered toward Christopher. “Did you ever love me?”

Christopher held Emma closer.

And answered without emotion.

“I loved who I thought you were.”

Juliette closed her eyes.

And that was the end of her version of the story.

ENDING

Weeks later, the villa was quiet again.

No more guests. No more champagne. No more lies.

Emma sat by the pool—not afraid anymore.

Christopher stood beside her.

“Do you still remember it?” he asked gently.

Emma nodded.

“But it feels far away now,” she said softly.

Christopher looked at the water.

“It should.”

Behind them, the legal case had already begun.

Behind that, the empire Juliette once tried to control was collapsing piece by piece.

But in that moment—

none of it mattered.

Christopher crouched beside his daughter.

And for the first time since the night everything broke,

his voice softened.

“You’re safe now.”

Emma leaned into him.

May you like

And the pool that once nearly became her grave…

only reflected the sky.
